Our Layout policy is underwritten by Norwich Union and is aimed at any individual Model Railway enthusiast who owns a Model Railway Layout or Model Railway collection.
The policy includes cover for all your Model Railway items and layouts and includes cover for all your rolling stock, locomotives, accessories and other model railway paraphernalia. In addition, the policy will pay all reasonable labour costs to reinstate the layout following a loss.
Cover is provided on an ‘All Risks’ including Accidental Damage basis anywhere in the UK and in addition includes cover against the following perils:
Fire, theft, lightning, explosion, storm or flood, falling trees, impact, malicious persons, escape of fuel from any fixed oil heating installation.
In the event of loss or damage, the basis of settlement will be professional replacement or repair or, if the owner elects, the cost of materials plus a reasonable amount for time expended, subject to the adequacy of the sum insured/value of the article, as declared.
Cover includes losses whilst in transit but is subject to an unattended overnight exclusion, i.e. any theft from a vehicle arising from an unattended motor vehicle after the hours of 9.00pm until the vehicle is used again.
