Our Exhibition Insurance policy is aimed at any model railway or model
engineering society, club, group or association. The insurance covers each
event and covers for setting-up days and breaking down days, as well as for the
days when the exhibition or event is open to the public.
Standard Cover includes:
-
Public Liability up to £2,000,000 in respect of any one
accident. (£5,000,000 available as an option). Covers legal costs and damages
in respect of: Accidental death or bodily injury to any person or loss or
damage to property happening in connection with the Exhibition and occurring
within the territorial limits stated in the policy and during the Period of
Insurance. The policy extends automatically to cover liability directly or
indirectly arising:
a) to and of members of the organising society
b) to and of invited clubs and their members
c) to and of invited individuals
d) to and of proprietors of trade stands
e) from food and/or beverage supplied by the insured
f) for external direction and advertising signs erected by
the organising society
g) from explosion of steam boilers of model locomotives not
exceeding gauge 1
h) for loss or damage to property in custody or control of
insured except where otherwise stated, e.g. tenant’s legal liability at Common
Law to the owners of the buildings is included but see question 8 on the
proposal form
i) from ownership possession or use by or on behalf of the
insured of any passenger carrying miniature railway exhibition covered by this
insurance, subject to prior notification.

‘All Risks’ Exhibition Contents, stands, fixtures & fittings, signs.
Covers all damage to official exhibitors’ property. Cover is effective from the
start of journey to exhibition and to the end of the journey home. Limit of any
one article is 5% of full value of exhibition sum insured or £1,000 whichever
is greater (this can be varied by agreement with Taylor McGill, subject to
prior notification). Covers exhibition officials’ personal effects against Fire
and Theft up to £100 for anyone official.

Money is covered whilst the exhibition is open or whilst
occupied prior to vacating the exhibition premises or in transit to a bank or
private dwelling of an exhibition official with a maximum any one loss of
£2,000. Policy covers up to £250 in the private dwelling of any exhibition
official.

Personal Accident up to £10,000. If Exhibition officials whose
name appears on the official stewards’ list shall sustain personal injury due
solely and directly to violence occasioned accidentally by external and visible
means while travelling to, during and returning from the exhibition and
including setting up and dismantling of the exhibition, the Insurers will pay.

Employers’ Liability cover will meet the requirements of the
Employers’ Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969.

Consequential Loss covers the loss of gross profit (defined as
Net Profit plus all irrecoverable expenses) up to an amount not exceeding 5% of
the full value of the exhibition contents sum insured arising from an Insured
peril. This limit can be increased by agreement with Taylor McGill, subject to
prior notification. The indemnity period is taken to be the period of the
exhibition and 6 months prior to the opening or from the date of booking the
hall, whichever is the shorter provided notice of the exhibition has been given
to us at the time of booking the hall.
